The story of PS
In 1995 we launched the very first IKEA PS collection, along with the concept of Democratic Design.
Its five dimensions of form, function, quality and sustainability at a low price still guide how we create products today.
IKEA PS is Democratic Design in its truest form. It's our way of showing the world how much we love great design, and our dedication to making it as accessible as possible.
Although the themes of the IKEA PS collections may have varied over the years, two things remain:
our Scandinavian roots and our love of simplicity. The IKEA PS 2026 collection – our tenth since
1995 – celebrates simple, useful things that bring joy to everyday living.
IKEA PS 2026 is about challenging and being playful, about creating interesting design while staying simple. It’s a collection of functional products that bend, peek, hide, snap, rock and even inflate,
created to bring a smile to the home. We hope you're as excited as we are!
